Sony steps into the mobile game market by acquiring Savage Game Studios.
Sony has kept itself away from the mobile market for a long time and never intended to be a player in the mobile space. Even though the recent metrics show how big and successful the entire mobile game market is, Sony was still away from it focusing primarily on PC and Console games. However, now the scenario has changed and the big player is stepping into this new world of gaming with the exclusive merger of Savage Game Studies, founded in 2020.

Although Savage Game Studios is yet to release a title, it is expected that under the IP of PlayStation, the players would experience some quality content on their mobile devices backed by PlayStation itself. The mobile game division head, Herman Hulst, believes that this merger would help PlayStation to reach a new broader mass of players potentially connecting with them with their content and pulling them into the ecosystem. This acquisition sparks a competition between the big players holding their top spot and the freshly entered PlayStation with comparatively less experience but it would be significantly interesting to witness how well Sony adapts the space and reserves its spot in the elite club.
