The wait is over. Spelunky 2, the sequel to the cave exploration/treasure-hunting classic, to be released soon.
After a long wait, Spelunky 2’s release date has been revealed. The game is now coming to Playstation 4 on September 12, 2020, and on PC shortly after. Although the release dates for Xbox and Switch has not been revealed yet. The release date for Spelunky 2 was announced during Sony's State of Play and the new trailer was shown with some of its new features and the Gameplay.
Spelunku Developer Derek Yu also Tweeted, “The Steam Version of Spelunky 2 will come out shortly after PS4! We’’’ need a little extra time to iron out online multiplayer on PC. Release date for that soon! After Steam, we’ll look into other platforms. We are excited for as many people to play as possible. :)”.

The new additions to the game include amazing new expansive locations including a bee-hive and outer-space along with a new hell-like dungeon. A new game mode, called Arena Mode, has also been added to the game and includes a new competitive mode called Hold The Idol, expanding the game’s Deathmatch mode.
